Ontario-Trained Lawyers, Practising on University Avenue

Lexaltico LLP is not a national chain with a satellite Toronto office. Our lawyers grew up in this city and across the GTA, attended Ontario's top law schools, and are called to the Ontario Bar. When you hire us, you get lawyers who know Toronto's courts, its communities, and its legal culture from the inside out.

Our office is located at 55 University Avenue, on the same street as the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The courthouse cluster at 361, 393, and 330 University Avenue is a 5-minute walk north. Osgoode Hall, home to the Court of Appeal for Ontario, is an 8-minute walk south on University at Queen Street West. No other location in Toronto puts you closer to the courts that matter most to our clients.

We serve individuals, families, employees, newcomers, and businesses across all of Toronto, including North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, and East York, as well as GTA clients who choose our downtown office for its unmatched proximity to Toronto's court system.

We Are From Toronto. This Is Our Community

Grew Up in the GTA

A number of our Toronto lawyers grew up in Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, or the surrounding GTA. We understand the communities we serve. The neighbourhoods, the schools, the transit lines, the courts, because we are genuinely from here, not transplants from another city.

Undergraduate Education in Toronto

Several of our lawyers completed their undergraduate degrees at the University of Toronto, York University, Ryerson (Toronto Metropolitan University), or other GTA institutions before going on to law school, deepening their connection to this city.

Careers Built in Toronto Courts

Our lawyers have spent their entire careers practising in Toronto's courts and tribunals. They know the judges, the court staff, the filing procedures, and the local legal culture that can make a meaningful difference to your case.

Serving Toronto's Diverse Communities

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities on earth, over half of its residents were born outside Canada. Our multilingual team reflects that diversity, serving clients in multiple languages across every community in the city.

Steps from Ontario's Most Important Courts

Our Toronto office is located in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of every major court and tribunal that matters to our clients. This proximity is not just convenient. It means our lawyers can respond to urgent filing deadlines, appear on short notice, and leverage decades of familiarity with Toronto's court system.

The province's highest court, sits here, as does the Divisional Court, one of the busiest appellate courts in Canada. Our office at 55 University Ave is on the same street, making court appearances seamless.

📍 11-minute walk east from our office

The Toronto IRB is the largest and busiest Immigration and Refugee Board office in Canada. Our immigration lawyers appear regularly before all four of its divisions:

RPD, Refugee Protection Division: The front-line tribunal that determines whether a person qualifies for refugee protection in Canada. We represent claimants at their refugee hearings before the RPD.

RAD, Refugee Appeal Division: Hears appeals from RPD decisions. If a refugee claim is rejected, the RAD is often the critical next step, and our lawyers are experienced in building strong RAD appeals.

ID, Immigration Division: Conducts admissibility hearings and detention reviews for individuals detained by the CBSA.

IAD, Immigration Appeal Division: Hears appeals on removal orders, sponsorship refusals, and residency obligation matters.

📍 10-minute walk west on Queen Street

The Federal Court of Canada has exclusive jurisdiction over judicial reviews of immigration and refugee decisions, including IRCC refusals, IRB decisions, and CBSA actions. When an IRB decision cannot be appealed through the RAD, or when an IRCC application is refused, the Federal Court is often the last resort to challenge that decision.

Our immigration lawyers bring Federal Court judicial review applications on behalf of clients whose refugee claims, permanent residency applications, work permits, or sponsorships have been wrongly refused. A leave application must be filed within 15 days (for in-Canada decisions), time is critical.
